I don't scare easily. But this terrifies me.

𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘺… But there is something that DOES scare me… Frightens me actually... ⬇️
Yes, I WORRY! And I may seem excessively, irrationally paranoid SOMETIMES, but it’s not really about stuff any otHer mom doesn’t fuss about.
But there is something that DOES scare me. It actually scares me to my core… in the most nauseating and uncomfortable ways…
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞… 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐄𝐑.
And I don’t mean as a motHer. I work really hard at being the motHer that She needs me to be and the motHer She tells me She needs. And it’s not about GIVING Her the world. Because She is going to be able to giver Herself Her own world.
It’s about consistently and authentically giving Her the examples of strength, conviction, and fortitude to conquer the challenges and adversities that life inevitably throws, in all the ways She is capable of doing so.
And what’s scary is that I know that the ONLY way I can GIVE Her those standards, the only way I can actually teach Her how to garner strength when She feels defeated, to stand on Her square when She is tempted by doubt, or to dig for Her courage especially when She is alone in Her position, is by LIVING AND BREATHING these values myself - each and every day in every thing I do.
𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭… 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐤𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐲. 𝐈𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞.
It’s hard to push through. It’s easy to say oh fuck it, I’ll choose the simpler way. It’s even less stressful. But then how do I show Her how GREAT She can be, if I don’t strive for greatness myself. I may never make it. I know this. As time moves on, and I get older, I know that I may never reach my highest point. But I KNOW that She can. And failing at leading by example is probably one of the scariest things I could ever feel because it would mean that I failed Her. And so no matter the challenge, no matter the stress, no matter the consequences, and no matter the outcome - success or not - I HAVE TO show Her how great She can be by striving to be the greatest version of me.
Be the greatest version of you today. Because you are - whetHer you know it or not - leading someone by your example.
